Are you 4Com’s next Charity Partner? Apply to receive at least £30,000 from the 24-hour Moveathon

4Com, a leading provider of business telephone systems, has launched the search for their 2023 charity partner. Each year the 4Com Foundation aim to collaborate with a deserving charity to make a significant impact in the local community by raising money through charity events. This year’s charity event will be a non-stop ‘24-Hour Moveathon’, which will see 4Com staff take on a variety of sports activities across a 24-hour period. The successful charity, which will be chosen by a vote of 4Com’s staff, stands to receive at least £30,000.

The 4Com Foundation, founded in 2014, is committed to supporting the local community in Dorset and the surrounding areas and has so far raised over £500,000 for multiple charities over the years.

Dean Cartledge, Chief Operating Officer, and the Head of the 4Com Foundation, explained, “We look forward to our big charity event every year as it gives us the opportunity to unite as a company and channel our efforts towards the shared goal of giving back to our local community. Each year we encourage our employees to get involved in any way they can and they continually amaze me with the amount of time and effort that they put into these charity events”.

Gary Scutt, 4Com’s Chief Executive Officer, added, “Our commitment to supporting charitable causes is something that runs deeply within our business.  We are proud of the kind and caring nature of our staff who continuously show up year on year to raise money for those less fortunate than ourselves. The dedication and continued selflessness they put into fundraising and carrying out charity work is truly incredible.”

To apply to be 4Com’s 2023 charity partner, charities will need to visit 4Com’s application page on their website and fill out the form towards the bottom of the page. Applications will remain open until 9:00am on 9th August 2023. A shortlist will then be chosen from all of the applicants and this list will then be opened to a staff vote to decide the winner. The ‘24-Hour Moveathon’ itself will take place on the 28th and 29th of September.

Dean continued, “It’s always an incredibly difficult decision to shortlist and pick the winners for our charity of the year, with so many deserving charities that apply. But this difficult decision is made slightly easier when we eventually get to see first-hand the impact our fundraising has on the winning charity which makes everything we do so worthwhile”.

In the past, the 4Com Foundation has organised a series of successful charity events and raised money for multiple charities including our 2022 charity partner, The Isabel Baker Foundation. Last September, £33,000 was raised for the charity’s Dry Suit Appeal following the 4-25 Challenge; a 25-mile hike across the Purbeck Hills by 40 members of staff from 4Com.
