4Com Launch 2018’s Charity Partner Search

Bournemouth-based telecommunications company 4Com, have launched the search for their 2018 charity partner, in which the eventual winner will receive up to £30,000.

Following on from previous years’ successful partnerships, 4Com are once again looking for a new charity partner, who will receive up to £30,000 in fundraising. As before, 4Com want to ensure that the money raised goes to specific projects that leave a legacy which will benefit a wide number of people in our region. Previous winners include Amelia’s Rainbow, who opened a new holiday home retreat for families they support and Diverse Abilities, who used the funds for a new indoor play space within Lily’s Place, their short-stay residential home.

Last year’s charity partner, Ashley’s Birthday Bank, used the funds on their ‘New Start’ project. This project helps families who have escaped domestic violence, poverty or neglect by providing them with essential household items as they set up home to start their new life. Since the project went live, the charity has been able to provide many families with cookers, beds/mattresses, fridges and other household items, helping them to build a safe, happy and healthy future.

The selection process takes on the same format as previous years, with local charities invited to submit their application online. Once applications close, the 4Com Foundation committee choose the 6 finalists who then go to an internal staff vote. The winner is the charity who receives the most votes from 4Com’s staff.

Dean Cartledge, 4Com Director and Head of the 4Com Foundation commented “2018 marks the 5th anniversary of the 4Com Foundation. To mark this milestone, we wanted to ensure that as many staff members as possible could get involved in events to fundraise for our chosen charity. Instead of one major event, we are offering a range of activities during the Summer such as participating in the intense Tough Mudder or facing their fears by abseiling down a 100 ft-high building.”

Regarding the charity search, Dean added “For us it’s always important that it’s a local charity whose project will impact a wide amount of people. We like to become part of a legacy so that our contribution will make a difference for many years to come.”

Charities who wish to apply to be 4Com’s Charity Partner 2018 should submit their application before the closing date on Tuesday 31st July by clicking here.
