Whether you’re a small business suffering from slow internet speeds or a large company in need of a private Leased Line to support hundreds of downloads every single day, you’re guaranteed to find the right broadband and internet service at 4Com.

As one of the UK’s biggest providers of business phone systems, we are incredibly focussed on ensuring each business we work with has a stable internet connection which is able to handle heavy usage from multiple people. So, whether you need to make phone calls via a VoIP phone system, manage huge downloads or ensure your team can connect any time of the day or night, we’ve got you covered.

Business Broadband

Is your business suffering from an unreliable or slow internet connection? We can conduct a site survey prior to installation, so that we can provide you with an internet connection which will provide you with the highest possible speeds.

We offer 4 different types of internet connection; ADSL, ADSL 2+, Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC) and Fibre To The Premises (FTTP), subject to availability.

Leased Lines

Leased Lines

If you’re after high speeds and unbeatable reliability, choose a Leased Line. Leased Lines provide such services as uncontended lines from your office to the internet backbone. Leased Lines can also be synchronous, giving you the same upload and download speeds and are ideal for those companies which require a higher capacity internet connection.
FTTC & FTTP

FTTC & FTTP

If you’re looking for high-speed fibre optic broadband, you can choose from two types at 4Com. FTTC (which stands for Fibre To The Cabinet), where a fibre optic connection reaches your local cabinet. There, the connection will be directed to your premises via copper cables. FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) on the other hand, gives you an all-the-way through fibre connection to your offices.

Our different business broadband packages

With 4Com, there are four different types of business broadband available. Each has their own benefits, and our expert advisors will be able to suggest the most suitable one for you and your business.

The four types are ADSL, ADSL 2+, FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet) and FTTP (Fibre To The Premises). We compare these different types of broadband packages below.

ADSL

ADSL is a modern connection which utilises traditional copper cabling.

ADSL 2+

As the name suggests, ADSL2+ is a level up from its predecessor and allows for improved top-end speed.

FTTC

FTTC delivers a fibre connection to your local exchange, allowing for greater speeds over other options.

FTTP

FTTP provides a fibre connection directly to your premises, allowing for the greatest speeds of these 4 options.

What is business broadband?

Business broadband is a faster and more reliable broadband connection than home broadband, making it ideal for office and commercial environments where internet demand is much greater. A business broadband package offers better network security, superfast internet speeds, bigger capacity and the ability to build a bespoke broadband internet package for your business. Packages can be paid for monthly or annually and the cost will depend on your specific needs. Your business broadband connection is undoubtedly one of the most critical pieces of your communication system, which is why we offer a variety of solutions to give you the best possible speeds.
Broadband

If you use the internet as a company, you’ll need a business broadband connection.

Whether it’s for the use of email, Skype, research, or something more intensive, such as uploading videos and more bandwidth-dependent communications, it’s essential that staying connected is quick and simple.

With 4Com, we can help you find the connectivity services you need, all supported by our UK-based customer service team.

Things to consider when choosing business broadband

As there are so many options to choose from, here are a few areas we encourage our customers to consider when they are deciding which business connectivity to select.

What’s available?
Whilst availability is rapidly improving across the UK, some connectivity options may not be available in every area. Our team will run checks for you to see which offering is available to your business.
What do you need?
While it’s always easy to simply pick the option with the most bandwidth or highest speed, consider the needs of your business. For many businesses, ADSL2+ still represents the best combination of speed versus cost.
Think about uploads too
When we think of broadband speed, we often think of just downloading, but if your company is sending large files for any reason, then upload speeds are equally important and should be considered as part of your buying decision.

Which Broadband internet option is right for me?

Generally speaking, the type and capacity of the broadband will depend on the size of your company and the type of business you operate. While there are exceptions, the below can serve as a useful general guide.
Small Small businesses

Small

Small businesses of up to 50 employees tend to select an ADSL or ADSL 2+ connection as this provides the capacity they require and is the most affordable option.
Medium

Medium

As ADSL 2+ connections offer speeds of up to 24Mbps, they are often found in mid-sized businesses. FTTC connections are also popular in this category for those with higher speed requirements.
Large

Large

Larger companies will need the capacity only offered by FTTC, FTTP, or private Leased Line connections. These also have the added benefit of superior upload speeds.

Business Broadband FAQs

If you are running a business with multiple employees all using the same connection at the same time, an unlimited business broadband contract will provide you with reassurance that your connection will remain stable and your business can continue running. Anyone running a business which relies on a stable internet connection should consider a business broadband package.

Yes, business broadband is better than residential broadband for a number of reasons. Business broadband offers a few perks that you don’t commonly get with residential broadband, such as better service guarantees, dedicated customer support, improved security, a router designed specifically for business use, traffic prioritisation and a static IP address so that you can host your own servers, websites or connect remotely to your computer.

To get started with business broadband, your first step is to contact 4Com. We will then ask you a few questions about your business, talk you through our deals and help you to decide which package suits you best. We can then do all the work to get you connected, set up your new contract and connect your computers, deskphones and all other hardware.
